How many bags of marbelite do I need for my pool?

Add the floor area (length × width) to the long walls (length × 2 × average depth) and the end walls (width × 2 × average depth). Divide the total square metres by two, because one 40kg bag covers 2m² at the correct 6–8mm thickness. On a renovation over existing plaster, deduct four bags. An 8m × 4m pool at 1.5m average depth works out to 68m² and 34 bags.

How many colours does Poseidon marbelite come in?

Poseidon manufactures 72 marbelite colours, grouped into bright blues, turquoise and greens, deep blues, and greys and neutrals. Colour reads differently dry, wet and underwater, and is affected by water depth, sunlight and your surrounds.

How long does a marbelite order take?

Does Poseidon Pool Plaster install pools?

No. Poseidon manufactures and supplies the marbelite material only. Your own contractor or applicator does the installation. Poseidon can refer applicators who work with the product.

Why has my marbelite gone rough and chalky?

Usually because the water is low in calcium, low in pH or low in alkalinity. Water short of calcium becomes aggressive and draws calcium out of the plaster itself, etching the surface and causing white blotches. Ideal levels for a marbelite pool are pH 7.4–7.6, total alkalinity 80–120 mg/l and calcium hardness 220–400 mg/l.

What is the correct mix ratio for marbelite?

Start with 4 litres of water plus 1 litre of diluted Marbeltite bonding per 40kg bag, giving 5 litres of total liquid per bag, and go no higher than 6.5 litres. The mix should have the consistency of stiff pap and stick to the wall as it is applied. Never add calcium accelerators.
